About Us

Laura Dominick was born in Chicago and grew up on the city's southwest side. She attended J.F. Kennedy High School, and it was during this time in 1971 that her friend Bob introduced her to the practice of chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo. After attending a meeting about this life philosophy on January 8, 1972, Laura embraced Nichiren Buddhism with the SGI (Soka Gakkai International), an organization dedicated to peace, culture, and education, which she has practiced ever since. This philosophy emphasizes compassion, respect for all life, and cherishing life’s utmost value.

Laura spent 32 years working at her father's printing company until his passing from terminal stomach cancer. Throughout her life, she dealt with digestive issues and eventually sought help from a doctor of osteopathy. This led her to a nutritionist for live cell analysis, who recommended dietary changes such as reducing dairy and acidic foods, alongside eliminating gluten, which improved her health. She was also advised to try colon hydrotherapy, resulting in significant improvement.

Inspired by her personal experience, Laura became a certified colon hydrotherapist through the International Association of Colon Hydrotherapists (I-ACT) in March 2006 and has been helping others with colonics ever since. She is certified at the advanced level and is a member of the National Board of Colon Hydrotherapists, utilizing her expertise to impact many lives positively.

FIRST let me say I have bad constipation problems. I have been to a place outside of Joliet around 12 times. At the time I was constipated for a very long time over a couple of months. I went there and the first time I thought that's all COLONIC was when just a few little balls came out so I just kept going back. as I kept going, that's all that would happen. Finally, I found this place called discovering Wellness with LAURA Dominic on LARKIN Avenue in Joliet Il. finally, I realized what a real COLONIC was after seeing LAURA at discovering Wellness. I had a complete bowel movement after my very first COLONIC. I actually seen it going through the machine which I never had seen before, and I had to go to her bathroom and sit there and even when I got home I was going to the bathroom having bowel movements. Hypnosis is a relaxed state of mind that heightens suggestibility. Hypnosis gives you the ability to accept suggestions on a subconscious level, where most conflicts seem to begin. It is an experience similar to when you drift off to sleep not fully asleep and not fully awake.
